AMI Talks - A Dignity-Centred Approach: Montessori Principles for Dementia and Ageing
Join us on Tuesday, 6 January 2026, for a 75-minute AMI Talk session with Anne Kelly and Julia Ballesteros on A Dignity-Centred Approach: Montessori Principles for Dementia and Ageing.
Montessori education cultivates autonomy, equality, and community and these values you will see reflected and elaborated in the first talk of 2026: our speakers will explore how Montessori principles have gained significant traction in dementia, disability, and aged-care settings worldwide.
In her contribution to our Voices of AMI Training series, Head of Montessori for Dementia, Disability and Ageing Anne Kelly expanded on the topic and emphasised the importance of helping all people live their life with dignity, respect, engagement, and a sense of worth, until the end.
Montessori for Dementia, Disability and Ageing Trainer Julia Ballesteros' Voices of AMI Training article discussed the transformative impact of small acts of kindness, grace, and courtesy, and how they can restore dignity, foster connection, and bring hope to moments of loneliness or despair.
